Brunetti Organization/Glenwood Apartments
Melissa Payton, Gerald Primavera, John J. Brunetti Jr. Ripped Off Rente

Miscellaneous

I moved to Glenwood Apartments, a Brunetti Organization property, in Oct. I lived alone in a small studio apartment, no more than 500sq feet. I commuted from there to NYC, which was a door to door commute of 2 hours each way. Therefore, I was only in my apartment at night, most of that time I was asleep.

I was recieving outrageous electric bills from JCP&L for $300 or so a month (eventually getting to $400). This was more than my parents pay for their 3,000 sq. Foot house! JCP&L came and replaced my meter, but the bills continued. I was told to reach out to my maintenance office. I did, multiple times, and each time there was no resolution. The maintenance girl, Gina, was rude and refused to help. She kept blaming JCP&L. I paid as much as I could of that bill so that I wouldn't be reported to collections, but couldn't afford to pay the entire bill each month.

After months and months of back and forth, I was fed up and decided to reach out to my leasing manager, Melissa Payton. I wrote up a long letter with details of my experience along with copies of my bills. She never called me. I called every day that following week and was told she was "out" or wasn't in and was forwarded to her voicemail. Still, no returned calls. I decided to move out finally (my bills at my new apartment are finally normal). However, this issue was far from being resolved.

I sent a registered letter to the head of the Brunetti Organization, John J Brunetti, with details on my experience, copies of my bills, and a plead for assistance. I received a letter back from someone else named Gerald Primavera saying they have no responsibility to anything. Not even an apology for my troubles and the calls not returned, etc. I called him and was yelled at and hung up on. I have $2,000 that is outstanding with JCP&L and if I don't pay it in full, I will be reported to collections.

I am a person with excellent credit, a young professional working in NYC, and I don't know what to do at this point. I finally sent a complaint to the attorney general's office of NJ. I just wanted my story to be told so people DO NOT rent from any properties under the Brunetti Organization. I have a gut feeling someone was stealing my electricity and they were connected to the owners. Who knows. Either way, they are responsible for this bill, not me.

Oh one more thing, I forgot to mention that I asked my neighbors what they pay. The girl who lived next to me was in the same size apartment and lived alone as well. She's been living at Glenwood for 5 years and on average, pays $20 per month. She said the most she's paid is $50-60 and that's during the summer months when she uses her A/C. This company is full of bull s*t.
