Overpaying

I rented a laptop from rentacenter. My weekly payment is 44.00. To date I have paid 2400.00 for this computer. I was told to buy it i still have to pay $610.00. Absolutely ridiculious. They are thieves. The actual price of the computer new was 699.99. Is there anything i can do to own this computer other than pay 3000.00 for it.
