Rip off scam

On March 26 Advent Air Conditioning was contacted by Fazio Eliz with Morgenthal Meyers and Sterns contacted us offering to assist in collecting a dept that was owed by a homebuilder.

We were told he got our information based on a lien that was filed on the homebuilders property for a dept in the amount of $6,900.00. We were told that we had to complete the paper work with-in 5 days as they were going after this builder on behalf of other clients of theirs. We were told that the fee would be 20% of the amount collected and we would receive our money after the funds had cleared on the 15th of the following month.

While we confirmed that they had received the funds and they cleared the bank our customer requested that we finished the job. We contacted Mr. Fazio and were informed not to have any more contact with the customer. We were to refer them to Morgenthal, Meyer and Sterns and they would collect the additional $5,100.00 and that we could complete the 2nd phase of the project once they had cleared the funds from the bank.

In good faith we completed the job for the homebuilder and homeowner. The 15th of the following month passed and we did not receive our money. When we contacted Mr. Sterns, we were told the funds were being processed.
When we still did not receive the funds within the next 30 days, phone calls were made to their office daily for three straight months. We received nothing but recordings from Mr Fazio, Mr. Sterns and the accounts payable department.

After several months we finally got a recording in accounts payable outlining that we needed to release the lien on the property before it would be funded.
The lien was released and we continued to get the rip-off runaround. Morgenthal, Meyers and Sterns have been contacted on numerous occasions via telephone, and certified mail and have ignored every request that has been made to return or reply to our correspondence.

As of January 26th we still have not heard from these con artists and have collected nothing.
These people represented themselves as a professional collection firm dealing with homebuilders and that they had a legal team to ensure that this transaction would be completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Do yourself a huge favor and do not involve yourself with this organization.
