Deliberately raised their fees & tried to blame me

I had my taxes prepared unfortunately by these people. I was ready to finalize my part to get the RAL. The papers had been printed & everything submitted by a 2nd person when All of a sudden the original preparer says she forgot to enter my mortgage interest & procedes to go back over everything & enter it again taking over for the other 2nd lady.

After she entered the taxes I'm told the amount of my fee to them had went up and was now over $355.00 and that didn't include their fees for using the IPower card. They charge $26.90 for using the card and another $35.00 for initializing it.

When she told me the fee had gone up I asked her why? She then tells me because you wanted to itemize and added your mortgage taxes. I told her YOUR the one who wanted to add them you didn't tell me it would raise any fees. She just shrugged and said she had already added them. I asked her if I HAD to itemize? I told her we only wanted to file & get the most back without all the extras. She then tells me it was too late that she had already put it through.? What a crock. My husband still had to go up & sign too so she could have amended it since she amended the first one. She then gave us a coupon off of $25. To calm me down. So here I am stuck and no way to get out.

If you have any other way do your own taxes if possible. I for one will NEVER go back to Jackson Hewitt. The lady had called me at least 4 times earlier in the day not understanding anything I told her. I can do my own taxes no one should have to pay over $400.00 just to get their own money back.
