Sales pitches sweepstakes Laguna Hills

Miscellaneous

So I receive this call on my answering service from a "Christina" from Pacific Monarch who says I need to contact her regarding a prize that I have won from a sweepstakes I supposedly entered. I doubt it... But I reluctantly call anyway.

She tells me that I have won a prize. She wanted further information from em. I told her that my main concern was identity theft so I would not disclose much information to her. She wants to know if I am married and if so what my husbands name is. She wants salary information and my mailing address. She verifies we are legally married. Then, eventually faxes me confirmation of a time and date that I will be at the Scottsdale Showroom at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall in Scottsdale arizona.

She tells me to bring a credit card w / a visa or Mastercard logo on it and identification like a drivers license. She also told me that everything as far as information NEEDS to match exactly. After I spoke with her I questioned why she would need my credit card. Then I became suspicious about presenting a drivers license with all my personal information on it IF I indeed only won something. I began reading the fax.

It stated I would have to attend a 90 minute presentation WITHOUT any obligation to buy anything. Buy what? We hadn't discussed buying anything or any 90 minute presentation. She also assured me that I would leave there with at least $500.00 guaranteed and possibly $200.00 as a bonus for Valentines day. She assured me I stood an excellent chance of winning a new car of my choice, dolby sound system, DisneyLand Vacation, vacation to Las Vegas, Hawaii or $100,000. The fax told me to call one day prior to my scheduled date of appearance and I would be given an additional bonus.

I decided to look online under the consumer rip off reports to make sure that I was not going to get ripped off and find out what others had to say if anything. I was disgusted at what I read. Timeshares??? Please give me a break. I wondered why she sighed when I stated I work three jobs just to get by. (This is when she mentioned I could very well win the $100,000)

YEAH RIGHT!!! I WON'T BE WASTING MY HUSBAND AND MY TIME AFTER READING WHAT ALL HAS BEEN POSTED. I NOW FEEL CERTAIN THAT I DID NOT WIN WOULD NOT WIN AND HAVE NO CHANCE OF WINNING-I will take my chances of not going/risking losing something that I knew was too good to be true in the first place before I attend something that I knew in advance to be would suck up 2 hours of my time and high pressure sales for timeshares... AND THEY ARE DOING THIS IN THIS ECONOMY? IF this is indeed a gimmick or ripoff? Shame on them!!!
