Refuses to ship, claiming backorderout of stock, false advertising

Closeout genius is a new alias for AllStar Camera, Inc., the well-known bait-and-switch scam company. Very similar to On Time Digital, etc. This time, they're "offering" plasma TVs, SLRs, camcorders, receivers, navigation systems, and more.

Tried to order a Canon HV20 camcorder for $299. After I turned down the salesman's attempt at selling $150 batteries and "service plans", I got an email stating my camera was on backorder. When I called in, I was told they were sold out of all Canons and might not get them in ever again.

Pitiful. This is a new name on the same old scammers. Just posting to give everyone the heads-up.
