Customer service ripoffs cancelled service, they charged me anyways and won't refund

I received a free receiver when i signed up for DIRECTV. Three days after I got the receiver in the mail. I called them to tell them that I decided that we weren't interested in the service, (we were previous customers-dissatisified with the service then too). Told them to suspend my subscriptions and not to charge my credit card They assured me that they wouldn't and I for some reason believed them to be a reputable company, boy was I wrong. I just happened to check my back account at the end of November and noticed a $42.00 debit by Sirius. I immediately called customer service and complained. They told me that they would credit my account for the $42.00 and that they were sorry. I waited 10 days, checking my account each day but not credit. I called back and they told me that they had credited my account on the 28th of November, (this was the 10th of december) I told them I checked with my bank (which I really did) and no credit!!! They told me to call back in 2 days and at that time if the credit wasn't there that they would resend it. So I waited patiently for 2 days and still no credit. I called them back and explained the whole story for the third time at which time I was placed on hold. The rep came back on the line and told me that he talked with his manager and that they both agree that I am not entitled to any refund (wrong answer). I asked what they did with the $42.00 they took from my account. He told me that they have that as a credit on my account for when I decided to use the radio and restart service. I told him what he could do with the receiver and the service and reported them to the Better Business Bureau, of which I haven't gotten a reply as of yet. If I get no where with that my next step will be taking it to my attorney and filing a suit against them. I'll update when I get an answer from the BBB or the attorney.
