Sweepstakes letter with $2,290.00 check claims $44,000.00 prize

I received a letter on 12/15/08 with a check for $2,290.00, stating that I had won an "international promotions prize sweepstakes lottery program" for $44,000.00. But there were fees of $2,290.00 (amount of check).

Prior to cashing the check, I am to call them and pay them 10% of the check (I presume out of my deposit). I am to contact Ms. Roxann Grant at 1-450-675-6854 within 3 weeks.

I have done none of the above, as I checked the company out and found them to be a rip-off scam, and that the checks will bounce, leaving you to pay your bank the bounced check charges plus any money you might have sent them.
