T-Mobile
Charging an "upgrade" fee for upgrading your phone

Miscellaneous

It there's one thing I can't stand about utility companies such as cell phone providers, it's charging all of the junk fees that they do. Most will waive the connection fee because they realize if they don't, they won't have any smart customers (yes, I am alluding to the fact that you have to be dumb to pay a "connection" fee).

However, maybe because more and more consumers are getting savvy to this fact, I notice T-Mobile has started to charge a phone "upgrade" junk fee of $18. This is an unexplainable, indefensible act of betrayal. It takes advantage of less than savvy consumers who don't question such blatantly stupid "fees". I'm sure that if I press the issue they will waive it, but doesn't excuse the fact that they're brazen enough to even expect one person to pay it in the first place.

People; please smarten up and start calling all utility providers (electric, phone, cable, etc.) on their junk fees or they will only become more shameless. It's bad enough that connection fees are getting more and more difficult to have waived because of the sheer numbers of educationally challenged consumers out there just accepting them with out question. Please don't accept any junk fees in the future while dealing with these companies.
