Trying to scam my sixteen year old son

My sixteen year old son had received a letter and a very large cashier's check for the amount of 4,996.00 and in the letter it told him how to spend it. It was a good thing that I opened it before he did or he would have thought that he could spend it like any other sixteen year old would. To this day he still doesn't know about it. How many other sixteen year old boys or girls have they sent this too. If he would have cashed it and it would have been returned there would have been no way we would have been able to pay all that back. I have called the numbers on the letter and have had to leave a message each time and nobody ever returns my call. People like this really need to get in big trouble for trying to scam a minor and make them think that the check is real when it's not. Something like this could really screw up a person life. I don't have the time of day for people like this and it makes me even more upset when they involved my son.
