Was rude, arrogant and ripped off

Due to unexpected expenses my mortgage had fallen a couple months behind on january 28th of this year 2004 the required money needed to bring my mortgage payment current and upto date became available.in trying to bring things current as quickly as possible i was told i could use my atm visa card and make the payment over the phone but there would be a sixteen dollar charge for doing so. So i made the payment and paided the sixteen dollars additional charge at that time.

Approximatley five days later noticing that the paymnet amount had not been taken out of my account i called gmac mortgage to find out why my payment had not been deducted. And they told me that they did not take atm visa cards and that the payment had been rejected on january the 29th understand now i did not find out about this paymnet being rejected intill i called them five days later. Now understand they tell me they will take the paymnet over the phone if i give them my checking account number and a check number but that there will be an additional eight dollar charge because the first paymnet attempt was rejected.

But that mistake was their fault not mine but i have to pay an additional eight dollars. They did finally accept my over the phone check paymnet minus the eight dollars. But i am sure they are going to try to add the additional eight dollars in some were a long the line probably at the end of the mortgage.

When i asked to speak to supervisor my request was denied and i was told by the person on the phone that they did not make mistakes.

What i want from gmac mortgage is a written appology for there rudeness and a letter stating that the eight dollar charge is to be dropped and to never reappear.
