Carrstar Industries
Degreaser I dod not order, followed by harrassment

Miscellaneous

On 09/08/08 a man called and asked to speak with our manager. He wanted to sell us degreaser and the manager refused the solicitation. The caller was persistent and finally offered to send a free sample of the degreaser so that we could use it and decide if it was worth reordering. One week later a case os 12 32oz bottles of Total SOlutions Hydro Power Multi-Surface Cleaner, Degreaser, & Stain Remover arrived.
The box was signed for inadvertently when our regular UPS driver left it along with our necessary shipments. The box contained a packing slip with a bill to address for Carrstar Industries. There was no phone number, purchase order, or pricing on the packing slip. I looked up Carrstar Industries on line and found a phone number.
Our company has a strict policy regarding approved vendors and Carrstar Industries is not one of the approved vendors. I talked to the manager and he explained that he did talk to someone about degreaser but that he did not order any. He also said that he did not even know what we would use the product for. The only cleaning products that we use are glass cleaner and bleach. We do very little cleaning because it is handled by contractors that come in on a regular basis. They provide their own cleaning products.
When I dialed the number for Carrstar I was unable to get a person. I called several times and finally left a message. A lady returned my call and I tried to explain to her that we did not order the product and that we needed to return it. I asked her what the product was supposed to be used for and she said that she was in accounting and knew nothing about the product. I asked her to let me speak with someone who could authorize the return of the product. She said she would have the salesperson call us. On 09/26/08 a man called and I answered the phone. He did not identify himself. Since Carrstar industries is the only company who sent us degreaser that we did not order I presumed that it was what he was calling about. I told him that we did not order the product. He said he had a recording that proved otherwise. I asked him for an authorization to return the product. I told him that we were not going to pay for the product. He said that I would see on the invoice that there is a restock fee for returns. I told him that I do not have an invoice, I only have a packing slip. I asked to hear the recording. He said ok, then he said that I would have to pay the restocking fee. I told him that I am not going to pay anything. He said "You're just a good Christian aren't you? You enjoy screwing everybody." I could not believe my ears. I hung up the phone. I was shocked, embarrased, and appalled. I called the number on the caller ID 602-218-5411 to complain about the way he talked to me. A lady answered the phone and said that she was in on the conversation and she heard what he said, but that he only said it because I called him a "scam artist." I did not. I asked her for a return authorization. I asked her to listen to the recording where our manager supposedly ordered and authorized this cleaning product. She said that they did not record their customer's calls, that they relied on the honesty of customers and their authorization center to confirm orders. She said that since I called within 5 days of receiving the shipment that there would be no problem to cancel it. She said she was walking over to shipping to get the retun authorization and she would call me back. I am still waiting. I am not paying this bill and we are not using this product.
