Beware of their fake 30-day trial period scam!

Health & Medicine

On January 22nd I run into an ad online for a dietary supplement that will reduce bloating and promote weight loss. It offered a 30-day trial period for just paying the shipping and handling of $3.97. A 30-day trial will mean a bottle of 60 capsules because the directions say take 2 capsules daily.

I understand that there are fine prints on offers like this so I skimmed through it an saw that the 30-day trial is from the date of your order. Therefore, I knew that if I give it 5-7 days for shipping, I still have enough time to try the product before my credit card gets charged. WRONG!

I received TWO bottles (of 60 capsules each) instead of one on Feb. 9. On the packing slip, it indicated that my credit card was charged $3.97 for shipping and will be charged $79.90 on Feb. 12 to complete the payment. I realized that this will give me only 3 days to try the product.

I called the number on the packing slip (303-456-5591). After getting 3 busy signals, I kept on redialing. I finally got a recording that put me on hold for at least 20 minutes. Then a customer service rep by the name of Pam came on the line. I gave her my order information. I said I wanted to speak with someone so that I can request for a longer period to try the product due to the fact that it did not get to me until 3 days before my card will be charged. Pam promised me that she will get someone from the billing office to call me back within 24 hours. I never got any call.

Today, Feb. 20th, I saw that my credit card posted a charge of $79.90 on Feb. 14. I called the same number and after several busy tones and continuous redialing, I finally got through. I was put on hold by a recording for about 30 minutes before I got Cathy on the line. I asked Cathy why I am getting charged the amount of the product even before the 30-day trial period is over. If I have 30 days from the time I ordered the product, then why do I get charged for it on the 12th or 14th, before the 30 day period is even over. The 30 days is already shortened by the delayed shipment that took two and a half weeks, then charging after 3 days of receiving not just a 30-day supply but two bottles is definitely a SCAM.

It turned out that today, the 20th of Feb. Is the last day that I can return the product. I asked for her assurance that I will be credited the full amount back if I return the product today with the postmark, tracking numbers and all the safeguards to assure that the product is returned to them. She was defensive, beat around the bush, and could not give me a straight answer. I had to repeat my question over and over until I got a straight YES. So now I have definitely made up my mind to return the products un-opened even if I wanted a chance to try if it works for me. I am apalled by their bad business practice and decided to get out of it now.

Right now I am on hold again (have been for the past 20 minutes) because after I hang up with Cathy, I read the return instructions and it said that I MUST call and ask for a Return Authorization (RA) number so that I can get a prompt refund. Returned products without the RA number will not be processed. Cathy could have given me this number when I spoke to her earlier but she did not. She was more preoccupied in defending the fine prints on the order agreement.in short, after you placed your order with GNS, Inc., you are at the mercy of their FRAUDULENT trial offer and inefficient customer service.
