Ripoff and dishonest fraudulent billing I have seriously been ripped off

I have been seriously ripped off by a company called the National Magazine Exchange. Apparantly they sent an order card in the Parade Magazine that I receive in my newspaper at home every Friday. It supposedly said something about sending a free issue of a magazine in the mail and if I didn't like it I could cancel. Normally when these advertisements say this, the individual person would have to fill out a form! (i.E., Business Reply Card).

I never filled out any card, don't even remember seeing one. I was told of this card by the representative I spoke with on the phone, and the reason why I was on the phone with him in the first place is because on January 11, I received a bill in the mail for $205.95!!! When I asked about this bill, he said it was for 4 or 5 different magazines, (I lost count as he went down the supposed list naming off the Titles), for a 4 year subscription, to my shock and surprise!

As he continued on, I interrupted him making him aware that I never filled out any business reply card, I haven't received any magazines thank goodness, and to please NOT send any to me because I did not order them! His response to me was this: "Well sir, our customers satisfaction is our number one priority so we will cancel the subscriptions, but it is already in our computers to send these magazine subscriptions to you for at least a year and there is nothing we can do about the subscriptions that WILL be sent for at least this year." WHAT??? That didn't make any sense to me and it STILL doesn't!

The conversation ended with me getting off the phone frustrated and wondering how in the world I would get these theives to NOT send me magazines I did not order and know nothing about!

I am at a complete loss! It seems that these people are thoroughly trained in persistence and theivery. How do I go up against that?!

His final word to me was if a partial payment or payment in full is not made on or before January 16, a $5.00 late charge will be added to the balance, and every month after that if a payment is not made. What do I do??
