Mystery shopping company begs you to work and then uses rediculous excuse not to pay you

I received a call from a Lady who said her name was Sylvia, from Market Force, at 5 pm on a wednesday evening in august. She said she had a desperate need to have someone shop at the Mc Donalds near my house on The next day, Thursday Morning. She needed someone to go there between 7 and 9 am, "could I possibly help her out?". I would be paid 18.00 plus up to 15.00 for reimbursement of food. I said O.K. She said she would email me with the particulars.

I worked on my computer for an hour downloading all the instructions. I signed a private contract with them. The next morning I went to Mc Donalds, Did what I was supposed to do and then worked another hour filling out the paperwork and sending it to them.

Three days later I was sent an email which said that they would not pay me because " It took one full minute to place my order". What the Heck! Well excuse me. I don't usually eat at Mc Donalds and had to read the menu. That was the last I heard from them.
I got stuck for 12.00 in food I couldn't eat. I don't like this type of food.
