Cross Country did not provide the service promised Fort Lauderdale, FL 33323

After being a member of Cross Country Home Services for several years, when we really needed them they did not come through. The contract promises that if they cannot fix it they will replace it, not so.

When the compressor in our air conditioning unit went up, the technician sent by Cross Country analyzed the situation and he recommeded that the entire unit needed to be replaced. At that time we were very happy that we had the policy with Cross Country. As we were instructed by the technician we followed up with CCHS to proceed with replacing the unit.

Well, needless to say the weather in our area reached 100 degrees for 5 days and no response from CCHS. Getting impaitient with no response, we called another company to get a second opinion. We were very suprised to hear the air conditioning unit that had been serviced by CCHS several times during the past few years was a fire hazard. The words used were "whoever has been servicing your unit has held it together with spit and glue and it was just a matter of time before it caught on fire."

After many calls to CCHS to move forward, we were finally told that they would only cover the price of a new compressor which was valued at $1400. We did share with CCHS the comments of the outside technician and it fell to deaf ears.

We replaced the unit with the second technician which cost $8,000 and promptly cancelled our policy with CCHS.
