Why are these rip-off companies still in business! Where's the law & justice!

Miscellaneous

I am 83 years old and should have known better, but unfortunately fell for this about a year ago. Put the check of approximately $5,000 in my bank and sent about $2500 for processing fees. I was then suppose to receive $500,000. I contacted the company once, the money should be coming anytime. Second time, nobody could tell me anything. The third time, couldn't get anyone to answer. During this time, the check came back to my bank as a bad check. The bank had even verified it as good when I put it in!

Here it is again in the mail! Different banks, names, phone numbers, etc., a check for $4713.00 (very legit looking drawn from Arizona Public Service Company at Bank One in Phoenix AZ) to pay for applicable processing fees. I am suppose to deposit in my account, call my claim agent Mr. Oliver Richardson at 1 866 733-7920 ext1 for further instructions. This letter even has a phone number of 1 514-652-8631 to contact the "Internal Revenue Services" for validation or to obtain my verification code. I am not calling any of these numbers or taking this to my local police department (who I know would look at me like I had 2 heads) The last time caused me a great financial hardship let alone the stess of thinking I won something only to find out I had been had. We can put people on the moon... But we can't catch these fraudulant scammers who can/are destroying some peoples lives! It would sure be nice to get my money back... I did learn my lesson even at my age.
