Company would not honor price of goods sold after I paid for them and left the store

I paid $40.00 for 2 chairs on 7/15/08 and promised to return to pick up the 2 chairs with a large appropriate vehicle.
I received 3 calls in three days saying "come get the chairs, they take up too much space."
I went to get the chairs on 7/19/08, showed my receipt and took the chairs home.
I received a call from the manager on the way home stating that the chairs were actually $400., not $40., but it was the store's problem and not mine, so they would honor the price.
I received many phone calls later from an employee and then the manager saying that I actually owed them $360.00 and that I had to bring the chairs back in or pay.
After too many annoying phone calls from them later that day, I said, "come get the chairs and give me proof of credit."
They came and got the chairs and didn't leave me proof of credit after leaving me with a bar of french soap which apparently was supposed to make me feel better.
Maybe I should take a shower with that bar of expensive soap to rinse away all the bad feelings I have about doing business with such a lousy establishment. What a crummy experience.
