On July 2nd of after being off for two days, I was called into the office of Joe Gallegos, General Manager of the Radisson Hotel in Lubbock Texas. I had only been there two months and had received a raise on June 16th that was retro back to June 1st of 2008.

Joe, in front of two witnesses, Libby DeShazo and Tony (the Restaurant manager) gave me an ultimatum. He said he would fire me immediatly or I was to voluntarily resign right then. His reason was for an email that made it to Radisson. I had no choice but to save my reputation as an HR major in College and take the voluntary resignation. He followed me to my office to get my things and I left the building professionally.

I filed for unemployment and today I am informed that Libby, Tony and Joe signed statements in regards to my resignation, however, they were false and have perjured themselves. These statements are causing my unemployment compensation to be denied. Their statements say that I was given a a two week suspension for two complaints received from guests and for training issues at the front desk. This is totally untrue and perjury has been committed to a Federal entity! Besides, the complaints that he is now referring to were dismissed by him in an email earlier in the month, stating "you can't please people like that." And that, "I did the right thing." I have those emails!

On the Friday prior to this happening, I questioned his unethical business practices. He put out a memo stating the front desk personel including the night auditor was to sign up each and every person on the Gold Points frequent stay program whether they gave us permission to or not. I told him we could not do that and notified the Radisson Inspector the following day. He informed me not to do that and I have that email.

On Tuesday, the day before he forced me to resign, he hired Paul, a former employee to take my place as Front Office Manager, before he ever spoke to me. He also fired one of my staff on that same day.

In the two months I was there he forced the General Manager to quit by demoting her to Director of Sales for no reason (and she was the one that hired me), fired two hotel Southwest Airlines desk customer service agents for no reason, fired the maintenance man that we had so many compliments on, forced the Director of Housekeeping and her assistants to quit by making work hard on them and throwing money in the floor stating, "this is what you are costing me."

This man has unethical business practices and should be removed from his position as General Manager before he ruins the Radisson name. I have been wronged and so has many other employees since July.
