Worst dad in the world, would not even pay for son's funeral

Alexander always liked the good life. He enjoyed it for himself. While he made an upper class living he was content to support 2 children with only $200.00 per month.

The boys lived very modestly. Not a lot of new clothes, no brand names, etc. Also not much contact with dad. Divorced since the children were babies, one 2 month old and one 2 year old, he perhaps saw the kids maybe once a year while they were young. When they were teens he couldn't be bothered.

When the oldest was married and had first child, I asked if he could help both boys out since he never really helped out while they were growing up. He said not to worry that he will take care of it. After his visit I found out he only gave each child $100.00.

After a few more years of no contact our oldest son died. After the funeral I explained that I had paid for the cemetery plot, headstone, clothing, and that all monies donated went to the funeral home. There was still a $6,000.00 balance. I asked if he would like to help pay for the funeral. He was outraged! I had no insurance on my son, he was 29 and had no life insurance at his job.

Some dad, he let his ex-wife and his son's step dad pay for his own son's funeral. HOw can he live with himself?
