Capital One Credit Cards Unfair Collection and Credit Practices

I have had a credit card from Capital One for 20 yrs. This past year I went over my credit limit, but always sent enough with my payment to bring it back down below my limit. I was always charged a fee for doing this, I paid it. I have never been late with any payments. Well, this past year, Capital One has had a collection agency call me and tell me that I must make payment immediately. I told them that the payment was not due for another two weeks and that I had already set up the payment in my online banking to send the payment for the actual due date, as billed. They then proceeded to aggressively hound me and my family. They even spoke to my husband who is not even on the account, then spoke with my 7yr old daugther telling her that she better tell her mommy to make a payment today or they were going to "call" the entire balance due.

Please understand, I went over limit, they sent me a bill only asking for $53 dollars even with the overlimit amount showing on that statement, then harased me for the entire balance over limit amount of $360, which I told them I set up a payment for $400, due on the 12th. Then they proceeded to call and start asking for the entire $1700 balance on the card! I told them that I set up the payment for the min. Due plus the amt over limit. They then told me that was not good enough, they wanted the entire balance. They said they would call me every day until I did so.

I called the customer service dept. Directly and they assured me that I was never late on my acct and they had no idea why this acct was even sent to collection in the first place. They told me that everything was fine according to their records and that they showed no notes that this acct was in collection. I spoke then with a Manager. They assured me that this would not happen again. Well, the following month, same thing!

I sent them a payoff of the entire balance and request that they take their card, after 20 yrs, and shove it. I closed this acct.
