After cancelling my membership at least twice in the past because Proactiv continually withdraws money from my bank account without my permission, I decided to try one last time by ordering a single box online. I NEVER agreed to becoming one of their members and I was very careful about doing so.
They of course somehow forced me into membership and withdrew money from my account. Proactiv is the only product I've found that keeps my face clear so I decided to remain a member because it appears thats the only way to order it - I guess they're not confident enough in their own product to leave it up to the customer to decide when they need it...
This last month I called several days in advance to postpone my shiopment because I didn't need it nor could I afford another $50. The customer service rep agreed to do so and assured me that I wouldn't receive a shipment and my bank account wouldn't be affected.
Well, as usual, they did deduct the money and it overdrew my account, causing extreme distress. I called Proactiv back and they totally acknowledged my earlier call to cancel, admitted their mistake and went on to tell me that they still wouldn't refund my money and that I basically had to live with it. I cancelled my membership for the last time, however I wonder how do they get away with this? They must do it all the time to thousands of people. Times are hard enough without being stolen from by a huge national company.
