Ripoff Billing fraud

A few weeks ago I opened my credit card statement and saw a charge of $159.95 from MWI Galleria USA 800-411-8104 CT on 11/18/02 that I did not recognize.

I called my credit card company (Visa First Card) the same day and told them I have no idea whatt this charge is and I want it off my account. They told me to hold on and they were going to find out what it was. A few minutes latter they came back on the phone and said it was a telemarketer charge. I said I didn't order anything or give out my credit card info over the phone. He said he would remove the charge and for me to also call the number listed for the company and speak to them.

I called the company and was told the charges were for discounts on entertainment. I told them I never spoke to them and that I don't speak to telemarketers and to make sure I am not charged again for this.

I thought about what happened for the next couple days and decided to call the company back because I had a few more questions for them. I asked the exact date and time that they supposely talked to me and was told the the $159.95 was a renewal. I said I better not have been charged for this before. So I went through my records and checked last November's statement and found no charge.

I decided to look up the compnay on line and thats when I found this site and others like it. Almost all the postings were saying they got the credit card number when the ordered something from a info commercial. I have only ordered from a info commercial once in my life. So I went back further into my records and found on 2/20/01 I ordered something on tv and on 3/22/01 there was a charge for $84.00 from MWI Essentials 800-313-3540 CT.

After reading up on this company with its many different names I am shocked how they can still be doing this to hard working people like myself, after all these years and all these complaints. I am also disgusted with myself for not noticing the $84.00 charge 1 year and 9 months ago. It's people like me who keep these theifs in businuess, but I would like it to also be people like me who get them out of it.

I am going to contact my Attorney General's Office and notify them. I am also going to get the word out anyway I can about this company.
