Miscellaneous

Last August Direct TV launched an all out campaign on NBC to announce it had taken over the show Passions after NBC cancelled the show.

They claimed they were saving the show and fans could continue watching but only if they ordered Direct TV. So I finally decided to order DTV and had to sign a 2 year contract. They were going to air Passions 4 days a week instead of the normal 5 days.

Almost immediately after they took over the show was cut to 3 days a week and then cancelled. Passions will go off the air in August. They never even ran the show for 1 year. This of course was never mentioned in their ad campaign. When I call customer service their answer is we have the right to cancel any show we want. I don't disagree with that, HOWEVER I think it was incredibly deceptive of DTV to bait people with this Soap Opera knowing they weren't going to continue the show.

Why would I have signed a 2 year contract if this show wouldn't last a year.in addition right after I signed up they started offering the show on line. Direct TV needs to step up and offer some acceptable compensation. I am sure their are alot of people with this same complaint and hope everyone speaks up.
