I get this check in the mail for $3800.00 and the letter says to call to claim your prize, the check looks so real, I was actually going for it, until I called the number on the letter 905-598-6107, the man said Assett, I think, I did not understand him, he had an accent I could not understand Jamacan, I think, anyway, I kept telling him to repeat what he was saying so I could understand him, and he was getting frustrated and had attitude with me, I could hear a child in the back ground, his voice sounded mad to begin with. I asked him, how I won this $ he said you have shopped at Home Depot, Walmart, Sears and or Lowes and they were having a consumer shoppers lotto, you must shop often that they feel that you are deserving of this money. At this point I knew it was a SCAM! Yeh right, he says just deposit the check and call back Tuesday with your claim # and then UPS will come by with your check, make sure that you have a valid ID DL# or they will not release the remaining $, the check deposited will cover all applicable taxes owed on the $38,000 I supposedly won. I paused and he hung up! This needs to STOP! Those people need to be charged with FRAUD, so what is the scam? Media needs to report more on this to make people aware, and why would we get in trouble for fraud?

Someone tell me more about this scam, is this like identity theft? They are using big name companies to convince people this is real. Ummm? I wonder what those big name stores have to say about this scam. People can actually fall for this BEWARE!!!
