Miscellaneous

In 2006 I read an ad in the newspaper classified section regarding a business opportunity. I was looking into possibly buying a vending route already established. I was really just interested in finding out what something like this cost to run, or even start up. An ad read "30 vending machines for $10,000.00. They gave some con about earning $800.00 a day, or week. I called the number to get more information and was directed to a salesman named Dean Minotto. Dean was very nice, and spoke extremely highly of the company. He made the business sound very easy, and gave you a feeling like you would be missing out if you didn't invest in this business. I was extemely concerned about this being a scam so when I hung up with Dean I did some checks online into the company. I saw some complaints with the BBB. Of coarse Dean called back the next day before I findout to much about the scam. I did really believe Dean as far as the success of the business and how easy it was to start. He then explained to me about this marketing company who will place the machines and garauntee that each machine makes $75.00 a month. If a machine does not make that much they will relocate the machine free of charge. I still was untrusting of this company so Dean has a women from Specialty Marketing call me so I can ask any questions about the placement of the machines, and the garauntee. This women put on an academy award winning performance. She was extemely nice, and came accross like she has nothing to do with Vendstar. She clamed to just do placement now. She gave me this whole story how her father got her into vending, and gave her a route when she was a teenager. She went on how it was such a great business, and how easy it is. Well, coming from another mouth she made it very believable, especially since she profits nothing from me doing this investment. At least thats what I thought. So, Even though this all sounded good $10,000.00 was too much money for me. Dean started going down in price. He kept going down, then pretending that he's getting special permission from his boss to go down to $6,300.00. I did the investment and when I got the machines, I must say I was surprised. The machines were cheap, and weighed nothing. You could pretty much pick up a fully filled machine a walk off with it, which is exactly what happened to a lot of them. I called Dean and he told me that if a machine is stolen they will replace it but there is a $100.00 deductable. The machine probably cost less than that to manufacture. Well, I had the machines now and Specialty Marketing sent me two people to place them for me. When I picked them up they were two crack heads. They smelt like they just finished smoking marijuana, and were dressed like dirt bags. I could't believe it. They placed the machines anywhere they could. They didn't care how the machine would do there they just wanted to get paid for placing it. Well, I learned that this entire business was a complete scam. Vendstar scams people into doing this investment, and has this Specialty Marketing working with them. Specialty Marketing is supposed to be in N. Carolina. I did some checks on them and found nothing. I even called them to tell the that on average my my machines were making $6.00 a machine, not the $75.00 they garaunteed. I got a story how I needed to send them a report for every month On every machine showing that they were serviced. I quickly figured out that even if I did that, there will be no one coming to move these machines. They are just part of the scam.

If there is a lawsuit in the works, or if anyone is interested in taking these scam artists on in a lawsuit, please contact me and I will give all the information I have. I lost approximately $8,000.00, between the cost of the machines, the locating company, and candy. Do not invest in vendstar vending, or multivend inc. THEY ARE A SCAM!!!
