Secret shopping scam Canada

I received in the mail today, 3/17/08, a letter and a check totalling $3,980.00 for my services to be a secret shopper for this company. It stated that I had shown interest in becoming a secret shopper, which I had never done. The check looks real but I know it is not, I hope no one else falls for this. Imagine the feeling when opening the mail and seeing a check of this amount, sure it feels good and when reading the letter it seems legit but usually that's when they're not. I plan on taking this to my postmaster to show him the fraudulent mail I received so he can take the appropriate steps to try and stop this attack on innocent trusting victims. Please everyone beware of this scam.
