Magazine Scam

Omnipresent Inc, Called me about, about maybe 2yrs ago. I was 18 and just got my first credit card. I thought oh cool I can get magazines at a low price and I will have monthly payments on my credit card to build up my credit. Well they didnt explain everything to me I guess. The first amount I was charged was I believe $48 and then something like $52 I tried calling to cancel my account telling the man I spoke with that I am on a limited income and I couldnt afford these payments they were to high.

Well, the man was rude and said that he could stop the billing for only 2months and then I would have to pay. I said no I want to cancel my account. He told me you cant do that we have to get paid to. I was like What??? You cant cancel my account because you have to pay your employees? So I went and Canceled my credit card. And they continued adding owed payments to my account but failed to contact me at all. I received NOTHING in the mail magazine, bill, or anything. Now I receive a letter saying they are going to a collections agency if I do not pay over $200.

I am on SSI and I cant afford that at all! I can barley get by some months with limited income and when I told the company this they didnt care? I canceled my account years ago got nothing for what I did pay, and now they are charging me more? How? They sure dont give you answers when you call.
