Omnipresent
Promised lower prices until they got my credit card number - then quadrupled the price! Wouldn't cancel immediately after!

Miscellaneous

In March, I received a soliciting phone call from this company to enter a sweepstakes. I agreed to the sweepstakes and they told me if I wanted to enter I needed to sign up for a magazine drive with what I thought were low and reasonable prices. I received a follow-up phone call from a supervisor, who proceeded to collect info from me. As soon as I gave them a credit card number, they told me a much higher price for the magazines than I had agreed to.

I then, in the same phone call, told them that I would like to cancel my order as I thought their prices were ridiculous. They told me that they placed the order and could not cancel it. I reiterated that I did NOT want the magazines and they told me that there was nothing they could do.

I canceled the order a short time later on my credit card, stating that the order was placed fraudulently. Omnipresent still insists that I agreed to something that I did not. I called them today, June 29th and they will not take back their magazines and will submit this $500.00 plus bill to collections. I asked to listen to any tapes that they made during the first phone calls to them, and they stated that they only hold them for 90 days. There is no written contract with this company.
