Lowsy watches, slow service, illegal - don't get tricked Nikosia

Miscellaneous

About a year ago, over the internet, I ordered a Cartier replica watch from a company by the name of LowPricedReplicas. Having payed a decent ammount of money for an express delivery of the watch, about 2 weeks later I called them to find out what was happening, since the watch had not arrived yet. Having left a message on their machine, someone from the "company" called me back. Having spoken to this person, I learned that the watch was on my way from China, since selling such watches is illegal in the USA. I wasn't happy to learn this, because I wouldn't have bought the watch, had I known this was an illegal operation. But, having payed the money, there wasn't much I could do but wait at that point. When the watch arrived, it was of a rather lousy quality - 1) one of the bracelet's screws was broken and sticking out; 2) the bracelet's main locking mechanism didn't lock properly, so the bracelet kept popping open; and 3) one of the small locking mechanisms that keep the bracelet attached to the watch was also broken, so the watch started falling off my wrist very shortly after I started wearing it. When I finally wrote the company about a possible exchange for a new one, it took me a while (we wrote back and forth several times) before I finally convinced them that I am not a cop and get an address to which I could ship the bad watch (it was an address in China). Needless to say, it cost me a bit to ship it there, but, again, it seemed cheaper than throwing th watch away. Having informed them the company (via e-mail) of the tracking number of my package, I finally received an e-mail notifying me that the new watch was sent and asking me to notify them when I have received it. Well, 4 weeks later, as I hadn't received anything yet, I wrote to the company again (since none of my phone calls resulted in getting to speak to a living being - perhaps they only call back when one wants to order). Finally, about a week later I received an e-mail apologizing for the delay and promising to send the watch once I have given them the address where I want it sent. Having given them that address in my previous e-mail, I answered back giving it again. And, a week later, again received an e-mail notifying me that the watch will be sent and asking me to let them know when I have received. It has been a year since I ordered the Cartier described above and I am still hoping to have something worthy of the price I payed ($178) on my wrist. The lesson being, people who deal in illegal merchandise are ultimately criminals, and that is what YOU can, generally, expect from them in terms of service, too. So, don't get tricked by the many testimonials published on their site, because they are as likely to be true as you can verify them.
