A clown with many faces!

I have searched for a job for a couple of months and I fell into a couple of companies of this type. This one seemed to be a little different at first. They promissed me that it was a marketing position out of the office and no door-to-door sales, no commission.

When I came in for the first interview, I noticed that the scenario was the same as at the other ripoff companies: a crappy unprofessional environment with a plasma on the wall that played loud music. I began to wonder, and then I noticed the other common signs: the unexperienced secretary, cheap computers, and cheap furniture.

As usual, there were about four candidates in the lobby - all scheduled for the same time frame.

Mike, the person who interviewed me, was very aggressive and asked me if I was interviewing with other companies. I told him with which, and he dissed them all. His attitude was very unprofessional, and he seemed like he was hiding something. I told him that I wanted a base pay of 40,000 and he agreed to it without any comments.

I came home, received a call and they invited me for a second interview that involved all day activities. That was my last sign that this was another ripoff company.

I researched them online that same day and came up with nothing, but by using their phone number I found out that there are two other companies in the same little office. I looked them up at this website and saw many complaints about GQ IMPORTS and MARKETING CONCEPTS. At first I thought may those companies moved out, so I called them. The person answered the phone by saying: Global Advertising - How may I help you? I asked if that was GQ IMPORTS, and she said "yes".

These ripoff "marketing" companies constantly change names because of their bad rep, so try to check their contact info and see if there are other companies registered there. Follow the signs I gave you and you won't have to waste gas and a whole day of working for free.
