WFTV Channel 9 exposed him in 1997 and he is still at it... We didn't even know it

My name is Maritza and unfortunately we became one of Pete Spaziano's victims.

In July my husband went on-line and used a website to search for a contractor to install stackstones in the front part of our home and to install 3 decorative pillars as well. Pete seemed to know what he was talking about. He gave us a quote on the work and provide us with local business tax receipt and a certificate of Ficticious Name registration which seemed to be ok. My husband & I decided we wanted him to do the work and gave him a check for $1600 which is 50% deposit of the total work.

After signing the contract I got this overwhelming feeling that something was wrong. I went on-line to check to see if his license information was valid and could not find anything. Something that I should have done before giving him a check. I checked my bank about 30 mins. After Pete left our home and low and behold he already cashed the check. I attempted to google Pete and found nothing. When my husband came home I told him of my uneasy feeling and my husband did a search on Pete and we came across rip off report. I was sick. I knew we had been taken and my optimistic husband wanted me to wait and see what would happen. There was nothing we could do since he had already cashed the check.

Pete had a sub-contractor show up to install and the 3 pillars in the front of the house. Once that was done the nightmare started.

Pete assured us that he placed the order for the stackstones.in the next few weeks Pete told us we was waiting for the delivery. This continued and continued. He came up with every excuse in the book. He was sick, in the hospital. His vendor could not get the stackstones. Attempted to get them through another manufacturer. We finally got sick of waiting and requested Pete to cancel the contract since he could not fulfill the contract. We wanted him to give us the amount we owed him for the pillars and return the balance of the $1600. He told us that he was charging us $700 for the pillars which was absolutely ridiculous and assured us he put a check in the amount of $900 in the mail to us. We have received nothing!!!

We are in the process of taking him to court. If you get a call from this man in response to an on-line contractor search do not let him him. Run like hell.
