Better Business Bureau BBB & CBBB
Satisfactory resolution is anything but

Miscellaneous

It has been awhile since I attempted to file anything with the BBB, but one of the most striking things was that a satisfactory resolution would be if the company refunded all money paid. On the surface, that might sound satisfactory, but what if they did damage?

Does refunding for an oil change cover the cost of replacing an engine if they put antifreeze in the engine? Does refunding the cost of installing a light fixture cover the cost of repairing roofing, drywall and carpet because they damaged shingles? Does refunding the charge for shipping make up for the failure to deliver your wedding dress?

Refunding money might be only the first step in resolving a complaint. But according to the BBB, it is the only step.
