Incompetent child protectors removes children from good home and places with crackhead

2002 - Ingham County Child Protective Service Workers: Mary Stewart Thornton, Shannon Lowder and Terri Blake, did willfully and knowingly remove 2 children from custody of mother who was trying to get away from a sudden onset abusive situation with husband, precipitated by husbands newly formed addiction to crack cocaine.

Allegations of neglect/abandonment were cited as reason for petition. Petition was filed behind mothers back in a plan contrived by husband and his sister. Sister later acknowledged on the record in front of the judge that the allegations were false and filed as a result of fear that the mother would move to a distant location with the children.

One child with a chronic medical condition was placed in a foster care placement with fosters who were ill equipped to manage medical condition. As a result, within 10 days the child was almost dead. Child was then placed with relative and mother was only allowed 1 hour visitation each week. Eventually the children were given back to father/husband who was convicted of multiple felonies as a result of his crack cocaine addiction.

2003 - At one point just prior to mothers termination of parental rights, father was involved with a new girlfriend who was found with her throat slit in an abandoned crack house, while still trying to convince wife to return to the marriage. Wife refused and husband tried to kill her in a manner not much different than what happened to the new girlfriend.

Despite the ongoing pleas from the wife to various authorities re: husbands serious addictions and and admissions by the husband of homicidal tendencies, no one would reign him in, including the felony probation agent who was informed by multiple sources of his crack cocaine usage.

Not until the discovery of the body of the new girlfriend did anyone take seriously the possibility of the husbands violent tendencies. But for whatever reason, allegedly the confidential informant status the husband held with local PD, the husband was not charged with the new girlfriend/prostitute/drug addict girlfriend and another man is in prison for her murder. Quite possibly on a wrongful conviction.

Following the murder trial, the husbands felony probation was transfered to an undisclosed location, and he was reunited with the children.

The mothers rights have ceased and she hasn't seen the children in 4 years, despite only having traffic offenses on her record. Mother does have information that wasn't made part of the murder trial that indicates a potentially innocent man is in prison for the murder of the girl.

2007 - Mother is fearful that the children are in grave danger of abuse IF still alive.

CPS/DHS workers along with guardian ad litem Sam Reedy and Ingham County prosecutors did thwart mothers every effort to get medical records of the negligent acts that resulted in the near death of one child. Mother without cooperation of her attorney did file a motion to show cause as to why access to records were being denied and requested to be permitted access.

Mother had consulted a very prominent litigator who was prepared to move with an action against the players individually and the agency as a whole, provided that mother was awarded custody and had legal guardianship over children and all records. It is mothers contention that is why the agency engaged in aggregious actions and cover ups that ended with the unsensible termination of parental rights from a decent parent, while reunification was pushed at all costs, awarding custody to a known convicted felon and possible murderer.

It is mothers contention that DHS (then FIA) and CPS colluded and conspired and acted well outside the scope of their authority, engaged in abuses of power and agents individually and severably acted in a manner that denied mother the right to parent her children.

DHS/CPS has the one of the largest budgets in Michigan States government, 2nd only to the Dept. Of Corrections. They routinely put childrens lives in danger and destroy families while trampling the constitutional rights of citizens. BEWARE OF THE CHILD PROTECTORS!
