2007 - Montcalm County CPS worker Sheri Tyler insisted in an email to Prosecutors, that 9 year old Nicholas Braman was not in any danger, as his custodial father was in "parenting class". It was later discovered that Nicholas was ALREADY DEAD at the time of Mrs. Tylers writing.

Still under investigation, is the case of 9 year old Nicholas Braman. Nicholas died in a murder suicide plot at the hands of his custodial father. Nicholas' father had entered a guilty plea to 2 counts of felony child abuse for abusing his 2 older sons with a cattle prod. The older boys were able to escape and go to the non custodial mother.

Mother alleges that she lost physical custody for failing to comply with the court ordered visitation order, because she knew the father was abusing the children. Punishment for violating the court order, was loss of custody.

After the 2 sons escaped and ran to her, in another county, she petitioned to have her children returned to her custody. Upon the guilty plea by the father for felonious cattle prodding, the mother was awarded custody of the 2 older boys, but not Nicholas.

Just days before Nicholas died, mother was begging Montcalm CPS to get Nicholas out of the home. Also, ongoing communications between CPS and the prosecutors office established that CPS was made aware of the case against the father and removal was warranted.

Under FOIA, email exchanges were obtained and it was verified that on the day of Nicholas' death, the prosecutors office made one final request that Nicholas be removed. The above referenced CPS worker sent an email back to the prosecutor stating that she never felt that Nicholas was in any danger as the father was currently attending parenting classes.

2 hours later, the bodies of Nicholas, his father Oliver, and his new wife were found dead from an exhaust fume murder suicide. The father had made Nicholas write a suicide note, in one last act of abuse.

The boy was already dead when the CPS agent insisted that he wasn't in any danger. Beware of the child protectors!
