Fraudulant Billing and Harrassment

One of my employees got a phone call in early January from the Official Yellow Pages and was asked to authorize an advertisment. She said quite clearly that she was not authorized to make any such decision and when pressed, she said that she would give her name as a reference but could not make any decisons on my behalf and then she hung up. She was then called again and pressed and she hung up again.

The next thing we knew we were sent an invoice for an ad that we did not authorize and when we didn't pay it, we were left telephone messages saying that if it wasn't paid, lawyers would be contacted.

I called Jeanie at Extension 413 and told her that I had not authorized any ad and she said that the employee had so I put the employee on the phone who reiterated that she had said she had not authorization and had only given her name as a reference. Jeannie then said that she would look at the tape of the call and would call back to let us know what further action would be taken.

I warn anyone not to say a word to these people at any time.
