Lied on my Credit Report

I was renting an apartment from Capital Rental Agency when a horrible thing happened... My son died in the apartment. When it came down to paying my rent I discovered my boyfriend had stolen my rent money on drugs. I couldn't come up with the rent so I moved with my aunt. I turned in the keys to the manager of the building.

Now on my credit report it shows that the sheriff had to literally throw me and my furniture out. I was never served an eviction notice because like I stated earlier I moved on my own. Now that ordeal is stopping me from leasing another place now that I want to move on my own again now that I have a 4 month old daughter. I don't know what to do.

I've left several messages with someone to get back to me about the situation at the renatl agency, but no one has return my call yet. Can anyone help me please?
