Do not get Vonage! It went out on us all the time and took our computers with it. Sometimes it took days to get it to reboot and this last time it has been 2 weeks. During these times we have no internet because it does something to our computers so how can we get in touch with them? One time I used my cell to get their number from 411, left them messages and they never called back once. Every time it goes out we spend hours on end down in the floor hooking up and unhooking the box they sent us. Sometimes it is days before it comes back on. Customer service is a joke. Especially this last time. They sent me around and around, very rude, even yelling over me when I tried to speak. Also the girl had such an accent that I could not understand her and when I told her that I could not understand she got faster and even more hateful. It sounded like she was reading something for legal purposes rather than trying to help. The call finally ended in a shouting match with me telling her to cancel the service. They did not cancel. I got an email the next day confirming that it had not been disconnected or canceled. That same email wanted me to start all over again. It is disconnected here. I took it out of the wall I was so mad. After almost a year of never having service I had had enough and called to cancel since they said I could not cancel except by phone. Then they will not shut up and let you cancel. Just kept on trying to send me to tech support which I know by heart by now and then offering to send new box, etc. No matter what I said rude girl would just say hold on and came back with same attempts over and over again like a broken record. She told me they were going to charge me 39.95 to disconnect a service that does not work right to begin with.?? They will not stop trying to debit my bank account although I have told them to and emailed them also concerning that. No matter what I write or what I say to their customer service rep they still send out the standardized emails sending me around in circles. They refuse to give me a number or email of someone higher up. Their website promises customer support 24/7 but when you try to reach customer service it tells you to call back during their normal business hours between 8 am and 8 pm. Their emails say 8am and 9pm. Nobody seems to know for sure why. I have been using my cell phone minutes at peak hours to try and get the service canceled and have told them this but stil the same old thing. They take you around the world and then try to send you to tech support yet again. What part of CANCEL SERVICE do they not understand? I am fed up. If anyone has any advice as to what to do next I would love to hear it. Can I take these people to court for harrassment or agravation or something? I told them that I have had 3 pulmonary embolisms and a stroke in the last few years and now have a torn meniscus in my knee and am not able to spend my days down in the floor hooking up their mess and unhooking it over and over to see "IF THAT WORKS?". They do not care. My blood pressure today was 165/110 thanks to these people. Their has to be something I can do. They deserve to get a really hard time from somebody for this. I am sure that I am not the only one they are treating this way according to all the stuff I have been reading. Would be customers BEWARE!!! Do not go with Vonage. They will make your life a living hell. How can I make them stop trying to debit my account? Help!
