Buyowner.com
High Pressure Sales of a worthless commodity

Miscellaneous

Buyowner.com is a definite rip-off. They put a hard sell on prospective clients, then ask for all the funding up-front. The hard sell is so intense that there is no time to back out. The prospective client must make a "snap decision". As we all know snap decisions are generally erroneous.

In my case, I attempted to stop the transaction the next day, but it was too late. The bank could not pull back the check without risking legal recourse. I could only sit and endure nearly $4000 effectively being flushed down the toilet. (It would have received more enjoyment by actually flushing $4000 in cash down a toilet.) The truth is that, just like buying a used car, there needs to be a 3 business day period where the transaction can be cancelled.

My property has been on the web for some two months. I have yet to receive the 1st call or email with respect to the buyowner.com service. I've received many calls from the $200 ad that I placed in the local newspaper. As soon as things settle out, I intend to start an email campaign to the Florida legislature calling for the same 3-day cancellation period for these transactions as for used cars. Oh, for the several thousand dollars, they provide about $30 worth of signs.
