First Texas built our home in Eagle Ranch out of spec to the red line dimensions which we had approved. The house sits approximately five feet over to one side. This makes the use of the garage nearly impossible. We cannot get our cars into the garage without jockeying them back and forth and crossing the property line into our neighbors driveway. Originally we had a five foot turnaround on the driveway, but First Texas removed it without notiying us.

When we were about to close on the house, First Texas proceeded to tear the turnaround out and move it to the side of the house where it cannot be used for any practical purpose. They also left the gas meter unprotected next to the driveway.

First Texas sent a representative (Al Slovik) to our house to discuss compensation for the lost footage. He offered us an extension to the house or a backyard kitchen and other amenities. We also discussed the building of a garage in the back of the house to replace the useless one in the front. Al and his assistant (Bill Alderman) even had plans on what this would look like. After agreeing to this Al dissapeared and First Texas denied that he and Bill ever visited us in our home.

Secondly the home had a crack in the foundation which was repaired completely after about one year. When we were going to back out of the deal, the First Texas salesperson (Jeff Spann) told us that if we did not purchase the house that we would be sued for the costs of building the house and that they would keep the house anyway.

After all of this happened and we complained to First Texas time and time again through e-mails, phone calls, letters, and lawyers, First Texas sent in people to tear down our fence, pull up our grass, and put up an eight foot fence with a two foot concrete base in our neighbors yard, getting rid of the shared fence that was on the property line. The HOA who seems to be in the builders pocket has been notified but refuses to do anything about it, or even acknowledge our registered letters.

Imagine coming home from work and finding First Texas has sent their goon squad to destroy your property without even giving you any warning. This is the kind of people that we now have to deal with. Don't buy a First Texas home.

There are other defects with our house that you would think that a one year old home would not have, but for the sake of brevity I will not list them here. Save yourself a hassle, buy from someone else!
