Deceptively tricked my wife into buying magazines at 4 times the list price

Miscellaneous

This company tricked my wife into thinking that by purchasing magazines at an outrageous price, she would be eligible for a $1000.00 shopping spree.

After she made the purchase she went to the website to shop. She found that there was nothing there that she wanted. She called the company to explain this and wanted to cancel the subsciption. She was told that a letter of cancellation would be mailed to her, for her to sign and return. The letter never arrived.

She called the company after I noticed our credit card being billed. She spoke with a representitve named Kela (?) and was told that it simply was too late and she was obligated for the duration of the subscription.

I called and spoke with Kela (?) and was told the same thing. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was promptly sent to someone named James, who, after I explained the situation, he became very rude, telling me that not only was it too late to cancel, hung up on me.

I then contacted my credit card company to not only dispute the charges to that point, but not to let them debit my account again.
This is where we are at the time of this report.
