Landlords Entering and breaking in rented premises without notice, wont return deposit or prorated rent

My husband and I moved into 70 Volmer Way, Reno N.V. 89512 in the month of June. We sign a lease saying that if we move out before the year we would not get our deposit back. We had problems with Don Thompson coming in the backyard at 8 in the morning almost everyday to water the backlawn. We called it upon their attention that we would appreciate it if they would call before coming over, and also that we checked with Truckee Meadows Water Authority that our only watering days were Wed. And Sat. Before or after 1pm and 6pm. On July 1st, catherine Thompson insisted to come over before my husband and I left to go to work to talk about the problem and also to letting us adopt a cat and keeping him i nthe premises till they got around writting him in the lease.

They came over that day and snooped around the house. They agreed that they would call us first before coming to the backyard and they verbally agreed to let us have a cat that month until they got around writting a new ammendment to the lease. We both were pretty satisfied with their words.

Aweek after we all had that conversation Don thompson shows up again, without warning when we werent at home. He called catherine Thompson over the house and they let themselves inside the house!!! Leaving just a letter letting us now that we are letting the backyard go bad. After we both got home from work we noticed the letter sitting in front of our television set!!! We were outraged. We wrote a letter to them letting them know that what they have done was illegal! They can not go in and out of the house when they please. After this we demanded a 24 hour written notice from them for everytime they wanted to come to the house. They responded by coming over the house once again and called us " fantasy home owners" and more uncalled for names. We felt harrassed so we called the police on them. They got asked to leave the premises by the police. A week after that, they come over again, without a 24 hour written notice, same thing happens again.

Long story short, they sent us an eviction notice, which we affidavit. We went to court on Aug. 21. We had moved the previous night due to so much harrasment from the Thompson's and pressure from them. Judge ruled that we never broke the lease in anyway and that they owe us our deposit and prorated rent for the month of Aug. The judge also mention that we had to talk this over with each other, later that day we called them ready to get this over with when the Thompsons refuse to answer their phones. They have let us know thatthey do not plan to give us our deposit or the prorated rent. Also now on their answering machine they are fully mocking us and calling us the little piggies that cried all the way home. So much rudeness and immaturity from these elderly people. Now we are taking them to small claims court. I wish we had never met these little children.
