The shopping group ripoff - tried to scam me but i got on rip off report baltimore

I was sent a letter stating that a family member of mine had reffered me to "The shopping group"... This was my first clue that something smelled fishy because the majority of my family members work in construction. But still being the money hungry american that I am I was still curious. I called the number and was told to follow the instructions on the letter but in a rude way (hint number 2). The letter offered for me to be a "secret shopper" along with the information they enclosed a check for $2900 (very tempting). I would have to cash the check at my local bank and then wire 2300 to someone in Canada. I would keep $471 and the rest would be for fees. I decided to look around rip off report to see if these people came up in their system but they didnt. Then I decided to call again under a name I made up... What a coincidence i came up in their system they had the name down for a check in the amount of $2900... Its amazing "I made the name up! Then I got back on the rip off report and searched for secret shopper programs and BAM similar situations had happened to other people but they were actually RIPPED OFFF. Dont fall for this "If it sounds to good to be true then it probably is"... That was a close call... Do your research people!
