Research group - customer service group secret shopper scaming

I recived a letter with a check included. Called the # spoke to the person it told me to ask for. He said to deposit the check, then when i clears call him back. I did this to a point, did not deposit but did call back. He then said that i was to follow the details of disbursement. When I was done to call back, but was insistent on me doing the wire transfer fist, then my shopping... I also called the bank the check was drawn on they said the account was good...
