Could not cancel accounts, wrote a letter-no answer, took money out of my account without authorization ripoff

I was told I would be receiving a $1000 online shopping spree, if I agreed to be sent INFORMATION on some companies. I had to pay $4 for this information, which was not a big deal. However, I had to give them my bank account #, which I did not want to do over the phone, but they assured me that no additional money would be taken out of my account without my authorization.

When I agreed to receive these companie's information, the guy on the phone said, "is it ok for us to JUST SEND YOU THIS INFORMATION?" of course, I said yes. When I received the letters, they said I had 10 days to cancel, or I would be billed.

Of course I called within a few days, but it either rang and rang, or a machine put me on hold for 10 minutes. I wrote these companies saying I was unable to cancel my accounts that I did not want in the first place, and demanded my money back.

That was weeks ago, and I haven't heard back yet. I even left them my phone #, and threatened to take them to court. I lost about $300 dollars, and I very badly need that money.
