CIC Credit Monitoring
Ripoff, bank credit card fraud

I've been overseas, military, deployed in Afghanistan. I don't know about anyone else, but the money I earn isn't that much, and well deserved for what we do.

Upon coming home, I started going through bank statements with my husband and noticed this charge for $9.95 from a CIC Credit Monitoring Co. Coming up frequently, like three times a monthly statement! And apparantely for almost a year! I know that we had tried to check out our credit report before I had left because we were in the market for a new vehicle for he and my son, but I never remembered authorizing some service.

NOW, after reading all of the complaints with the same company from this site, I did what was suggested. I called my bank (because this company wouldn't take my calls. Put me on hold. Sent me to another representative, etc. Basically the runaround) and was told that I wasn't the only one.

I cancelled my card and have to wait for a new one. BUT! What about my brothers and sisters in arms. The customer rep from my bank said that most of the soldiers that call in to the bank with the same problem are overseas in Iraq/Afghanistan. And let me tell you, it takes forever for our mail. They have to just eat the charges for the duration because they can't go without a bank card while they are there.

So what can they do. Nothing for the year or more that they are in the sandbox fighting for a country of corporate vampires that take their money FRAUDULANTLY. Doesn't seem very fair.
