Magazine subscription ripoff

I received a letter telling me that $29.90 would be deducted out of my bank account and that the total due was $418.60.

Who in their right mind would pay that much money for magazines?

This was not explained to me when I talked to them on the phone.

I have not received one magazine and granted I was pretty naive to believe.

What do I do to stop them from taking money out of my account short of changing my account number?
