Sueing me in court with their attorney able to testify by phone! Dallas Texas And Richmond, Virginia

Brief background on my situation:
I fell behind on most of my credit cards after taking a job that shorted me almost $8,000 in commissions, I was still holding on to my credit and went back to my old job when a trio of hurricanes hit central Fl. Thus pushing me over the edge financially.
I have made arrangements and paid of most of the credit card companies, except for Capitol One.
I am being sued by Capitol One for almost $2,000 on a $1,000 debt because of excessive interest and other charges on a company credit card.
I settled with a personal Capitol One account I had and I was not notified or given an opportunity for the business account on which I owed a little over $1,000.
They have sued me in court, I appeared and they were able to testify by phone in a mediation hearing.
They did not present the letter for 30 day notification or the contract I supposedly signed that made me liable for the company debt.
They rescheduled the "Mediation" to 1-11-06 with the same requiremnets of "Me" showing up and the " Attorney" being able to call in.
If anyone has suggestions that would help I would appresiate it as I am not in a position to be able to afford an attorney.
If I have to, (and they will let me), I will have to do a jury trail.
Thank you very much for any help you may offer.
