I wasn't 100% positive that I could possibly have interviewed for such a horrifi company whose awful rep precedes itself, but based on what I have read on your site, I believe that cydcor now has a company out of Tampa called "direct outsource group." And I say this because of the "wear comfortable shoes" pitch along w / many other similarities I found in the process of my 1st int.

They called me in for an interview, an invite to a "prelim interview" as they put it, they were really laid back adn friendly. The admin had loud music (and made a point of asking how we liked the hiphop blasting from her computer speakers). The interview was brief, and really vague and broad. When I made a point in saying that I felt he was being really vague and it was a turnoff in terms of enticing me to take a job with them, he laughed it off and said that he was the one feeling me out to see if I would make a good employee for HIIM. Then he pulled the whole "i know talent when i see it" line and thought I would be great for the position he is looking to fulfill. I should say that I was contacted because my resume was posted on monster.com. I should have known it was shady because no experience was necessary, they had about 100 ads out in all sectors of employment and post new ads on a daily basis.

And at the risk of sounding ignorant, I received an email from a Phyllis (though the guy I was on the phone with sent it to me while we were on the phone) and when I met Phyllis the next day, she turned out to be Asian... Which is very unlikely with a last name King, esp considering she told me she had recently come here from Malaysia.

My first sign of shadiness was the voicemail I received from the "president." He told me to "call back right away." In those words. I mean, really what kind of professional looking to hire says that to a prospective employee? The people I met through the process of my first interview were all quite nice. The president couldn't stop talking about how successful he is, he was sent from LA to open up his own office blah blah blah. I checked out the website before I went in for the first interview in case they tried to see if I did my research and I have to say that it was really unprofessional and being as html illiterate as I am, I probably could have come up with something a bit more professional looking to entice prospective employees. Their directoutsourcegroup.com/

Now, like i said, i'm not completely positive that this is a company working under cydcor. But I did get the whole pitch about "oh I'm interviewing about 30 ppl today. I'll probably only call back about 5 ppl for a 2nd and you will work 9-5 to see if you like the job and if it's what you want, we'll have a chance to feel each other out and see if it'll be somethign that will work for us." So I get a call (and to be honest, I didn't doubt I would), and he tells me to wear comfortable shoes! And he hangs up with a "peace" instead of a professional "good bye." Which would be all well because they appeared to be really laid back but I just found it a bit... Odd for somebody looking to try and hire me.

I'm tempted to go on this 9-5. To show up and ask all the questions that the leader probably is not allowed to address, to ask them who their parent company is and see if I get an answer. Thus far, the president/manager has managed to avoid my questions because I made it CLEAR I do not have any plans to get into a sales job. He also avoided my questions as to why he was working such late hours. When he first called to set up my prelim interview, he asked if I could come into work that nite (and it was almost 7pm). I find it odd that they have only one direct line, that he emailed me to confirm directions from the admin's email address, and that he said I was lucky to manage to get the president on the phone when I was simply returning his call, and he had only called me minutes earlier. None of the staff has direct lines and they seem to work with just one main number. I called back again regarding my 2nd invite and had a guy on the phone trying to flirt with me. I think the 9-5 stint would be amusing knowing all I learned from your site.
