Intrigue Marketing - Cydcor
Scam, rip off

Education & Science

INTRIGUE MARKETING called me for an interview, an invite to a 'prelim interview' as they put it, they were really friendly.in the office, they had loud music. The interview was very short (5 minutes), and really vague.

I should say that I was contacted because my resume was posted on careerbuilder.com. I should have known it was shady because no experience was necessary, they had about 100 ads out in all sectors of employment and post new ads on a daily basis.

The people I met through the process of my first interview were all quite nice. I hardly even spoke. It was mostly the owner/manager talking. The president couldn't stop talking about how successful she is, she was sent from ALABAMA to open up her own office... I did get the whole pitch about 'oh I'm interviewing about 30 ppl today. I'll probably only call back about 5 ppl for a 2nd and you will work 9-5 to see if you like the job and if it's what you want, we'll have a chance to feel each other out.
So I get a call, and she tells me to wear professionnally!

I'm tempted to go on this 9-5. To show up and ask all the questions. The leader of the team has managed to avoid my questions as: why she was working such late hours (7.45am to 6.30/7pm)

The job that intrigue maketing is offering is vague!!! Beware!

[The PRESIDENT OF INTRIGUE MARKETING MRS KATHIE B*] kept saying direct marketing, things like that and at the very end I said, 'is this a sales job?' she said no, not a sales job at all. Later I found out it's a door-to-door sales job is what it is.'

That's not what I wanted: the job is based on 100%commission, you do door to doors sales, the company dont pay you for the gas... So, all day long we walked from business to business trying to sell paper. Paper paper paper. All total I think my trainer made 0 sale for less than 100 dollars. Commission take-home = $20 or less. Thats about working for free the whole day!

Plus, I was told that all expenses (milage, fuel, food) you have to pay for yourself, but you can write-them-off on taxes at the end of the year. Is that going to help pay my rent this month? If I'm making $2 per hour (like this trainer was), how could I possibly pay the bills? No wonder she couldn't afford to eat at a decent restaurant.

Finally, at the end we returned to the 'main office', and had a short discussion with the owner. I said all the right stuff, because I still half-believed it, and even offered that I could start the next day. I was hired. I was told to be there at 7:30am, and plan to work until 7pm.

Anyway, after doing research on Cydcor, I decided it wasn't worth the risk for me. That in the end, the 'Entry level management' was really doing door-to-door sales with practically no pay and definitely NOT SALARY as I was told... Its just commission sales.
Please beware of this kind of job offer! Its a real scam.
